My life and our family’s life changed when Lizzie, our daughter, had a stroke at 19 from a malformation in her brain. With no prior symptoms she hung over the toilet saying I don’t feel well to her dad and then passed out. Her brother suggested they call 911 as her dad was too distraught to think. Lizzie was in a coma for 2 months. Lizzie spent a year in a hospital or rehabilitation facility. Slowly she emerged and this is an account of our lives, her life and how we’ve adapted her environment to be successful. You’ll see many tips on how I’ve adapted various activities.
